IN HONOR OF MY 50+ FRIENDS AND FAMILY ...
I personally know over 50 people who are cancer survivor, living with cancer or we have lost to Cancer. Yes, over FIFTY PEOPLE!
Last year, my 1st Mother was diagnosed with Cancer. This year, my 2nd mother died of Cancer.
Three other people I very much care about are now going through chemo ... I try to be supportive in their battles but I always wish I can do more.
I have to admit, it's incredibly difficult for me to listen to what happens during treatment, how they feel or how their bodies are reacting to medications. It's incredibly difficult and painful. It doesn't get any easier.
When you think of what people go through during treatment, and its toll on their bodies and energy and each family's ordeal, it's a tough road. One I can only hope, no one has to go through.
Walking and running through Wilshire Blvd in my undies to help raise money? All of a sudden, not so tough ANYMORE!
As I join the crowd on Wilshire Blvd. in my undies ... I will not be alone. I will be walking with the memories of my family members and friends I have lost to cancer.
